I like seeing Paxton & Crawford lined up, while knowing that the Sox also had Paxton Crawford. I remember his debut. Gosh. Didn’t he have a little bit of hoopla around him? I seem to remember either hype or a hot start with Paxton Crawford.

This group inspires so little hope. It’s deflating.

Just an absurd middle finger from Dombrowski to the entire Rule 5 concept.

Hasn't felt the same since Mickey Rivers retired It was the end of the Kevin Maas/Matt Nokes era that did it for me.

We feel the same way. The MFYs of old died when they moved into their new, soulless stadium. That fan base is a shell of itself now. Zero intimidation going into that dump of a borough.
They also haven’t won an AL pennant since 2009, so they can keep slapping themselves to the word “mystique”, their 50 retired jerseys, and some more dorky John Sterling home run calls.

The thing about Dermody is… he is terrible. Why invite controversy with a guy who is totally interchangeable with dozens of journeymen? *Yeah, man, but his “peripheral numbers” portend an uptick in production!!* /Wack off hand signal

I think the most frustrating thing about the Rays is how consistently they play better baseball than us. Top to bottom, their roster might not be as impressive on paper, but the one constant is that they play good baseball. I can’t stand watching our guys make defensive and baserunning mistakes, but that exasperation is compounded when I consistently watch Tampa’s excellently coached teams year over year.

Ugh. Come on, Alex. I’d be fine if I never saw Kluber pitch again. He looks cooked… deep fried, even.

It’s really hard to watch Kluber pitch. Excruciating, really.

No hard feelings for Xander, but it’d be nice to hand his team a nice s*** burger (Lou Brown from Major League voice) this weekend.

So… do the Red Sox no longer wear their classic uniforms? It feels like these bush league red/blue softball jerseys are on display every goddamn night. This isn’t the Rays or D-Backs… it’s the franchise for which Ted, Yaz, and Double-X played. Enough with the gimmicks!

It's a long season and I certainly try not to over react early, yet omg look at that lineup, look at the #3 and #4 hitter. Yeah. That’s what’s been bothering me. That lineup is U-G-L-Y. Thank heavens Bloom prioritized pitching and defense this season. Urrrrr…

Fair question, and I think its development because how many guys now have we seen go elsewhere and suddenly figure it out? But to your point, I think it's a blend of both, and the same guys who are responsible for talent evaluation are the same guys involved in developing that talent so it's a vicious cycle. Won't Franchy be a good test case!? Multiple chances here, goes to mfy and starts bashing. If he keeps it up, fingers have to point to how we develop/prep our players for the bigs. We might just need to hire away one of the MFY’s… uhhhhhh… dietitians.

No matter how many Trop games I watch, that place never ceases to repulse me. What an absolute DUMP. Sterile and soulless.
Anyhow, turn the page. Bounce back tomorrow. Let's see some Bobby BOMBS.

Man, how do people turn this into a negative? Yeah, if one of our rookies reached out to a vet to check if he was cool with this, we’d love his character. Is it necessary? Of course not. But I bet the clubhouse loves it. Do you think Pedroia wouldn’t love that? Pedroia/Gardner is a bit of a false equivalency. We’re talking about a guy who spent a lot of time as a utility outfielder. The part that bothers me is this is just another attempt by the MFY media machine to make the next hyped prospect a deity. A true “Yankee”, that Volpe is! Pure class!
