One would think that after being with the team since 2018 fans would learn how to spell his name.

Also, Dombrowski wasn’t the GM when the Pivetta trade was made. The trade was Aug 2020 and he was hired in Dec That’s why I noted “recent exchanges”.

Sox seem to trade often with the Phillies. Perhaps Dombrowski has something to do with recent exchanges. It would be nice if they all work out like the Workman/Hembree for Pivetta/Seabold.

Looks like we have a real gem here. Funny to read the Summation in his SP scouting report which describes him as an “up and down utility man”. Undoubtedly the report was written some time ago.
Next ranking will probably have Cedanne breaking into the top ten.

Teams don’t disclose where they’re staying as they don’t want the lobby full of autograph seekers. Sometimes the info leaks out. Good luck.

So the best outcome is that he will probably be in Worcester until August and then get promoted, but this injury could push it back until September. This makes the season's outlook a little more bleak. Casas could have really helped by July. Might not be the Sox year this year. That’s a very optimistic outlook. Before he was injured he was batting .248 with a 35/23 K to BB stat. Kid’s got a way to go in his development before a promotion.

Granberg is up to 350 AA at bats. 800 OPS last year and 950 this year. Time for Worcester? Why not? He's hit at every level he's played with a career BA close to .300. Clubbed 17 HR last season. Devlin is 26. Good time to move up.

Dalbec has options remaining. It may be a good idea to send him to Worcester for some training in baseball contact. Casas is on the shelf now with an ankle injury. And there could be ABs there for 3B or DH, maybe even OF. He's not helping the team right now and needs a new approach.Or trade him for a talented though slumping OF.

The trickle down effect of ineffective starting pitching or starters that go twice through the lineup is that by July (or sooner) the bullpen is gassed. I wouldn't be concerned. Bloom, as he did last year, will find more guys to staff the bullpen.

Semien has had two seasons in his career where he was better than a league average hitter, by OAA he's had one above-average season on defense, and he's 31. How he parlayed that profile into a $175 million contract I will never understand. The Rangers GM is stupid….that’s how! These GMs need restraint. He needs to take lessons from Bloom. Yeah, throw lots of money at a shortstop, tell him to play 2B, and watch him flourish.

What happened to the 30-60 page game threads? There used to be series threads that approached 100 pages.... even passed 100 pages in some NYY series. Sad Bruins/ Hurricanes going to 7th game.

Very disappointed by Duran's return to Worcester.I had hopes he was here for the long haul, especially after the triple, BB, run.Looks like Bloom sticking with the vets come hell or high water.

Yep. We just sent our best hitting outfielder to AAA. WHY? Cause it's what we do. Our best hitter last year was Taylor Motta at .333 .429 .833 1.262, who is hitting .370 .609 .979 in AAA for the Reds this year. Our "best hitter" last season, Taylor Motter, put up a .222/.327/.267/.594 line in 14 games for Worcester.

Casas is a better prospect than Dalbec ever was, but I think there is room for both of them. In fact I would not at all be opposed to Dalbec taking over full time DH duties after JDM leaves. Use the money you are saving on a DH to sign Devers and Bogaerts. I just love Dalbec's batted ball profile too much to pass on it. He’s too good an athlete to plunk down in the DH slot, though I understand your point. There’s a need for a RH bat in the OF. I’m confident Bobby can make the transition.

System averaged 9.25 runs per team yesterday. Been a loooong time since we enjoyed that kind of output from our wannaBs. Should be a fun year with all the mashers.

My point was that Hernandez played a solid 2B. They’d have been better finding a RH bat and playing Verdugo in CF. So much opportunity wasted with Jackie in the batters box.

I can agree, Renfroe was replaceable. But he was not. Hernandez played an excellent 2B last year and contributed offensively. Acquisition of a RH bat such as Suzuki would have kept Kiké at 2B obviating the need to buy a SS and convert him to second at great expense. There will be regrets as we watch JBJ flail away at balls outside the zone as the season rolls along.

Failure to replace Renfroe’s offensive output will hinder any chance of slipping into the 90+ range. Suzuki would have been ideal. Loss of Sale to start the season will hurt.

I think it’s safe to say that SS is the strongest position in this organization. With the obvious Mayer to go along with Hamilton, Lugo, Koss and our big guys, Bogey and Storey. Good thing is that shortstops can be moved around to other positions.

Any interest in Justin Upton for RF? Can be had for cheap now that he's been released by L.A.

Steve Adams of MLBTR wrote today that the Padres and Pirates have been in discussion about a trade for OF Bryan Reynolds. Reynolds, an all star selectee, just qualified for arbitration. So he’s under team control for a few more years. A RH power hitter he,s now playing CF for the Bucs. It would take a lot to acquire him but he’s been rumored in trade discussions for some time.
